Moritex has introduced a range of four battery handle light sources for industrial endoscopes to suit different applications and budgets.

The range now includes a simple, low cost Maglite-style handle, halogen and xenon lamp handles as well as a high performance LED handle for the most demanding applications. An adapter is available for the LED handle enabling it to additionally be used as a torch.

Moritex also provides the LightScope industrial endoscopes. Easy to use and cost-effective, the LightScopes are suitable for remote viewing and limited access inspection applications including machinery repairs as well as aircraft, automotive and diesel engine inspections.

The endoscopes are available with rigid or flexible probes, and include integral battery-powered illumination. They are equipped with high quality optics to ensure distortion-free viewing with true colour reproduction. The focus range is adjustable from 10mm to infinity.

With c/mount compatibility all LightScopes may be interfaced to mobile video or digital recording systems. Rotational side view adapters are provided with the probes. The endoscopes are waterproof and constructed of stainless steel and inert industrial grade polymers to ensure long operational lifetime.

Dolan-Jenner Industries has introduced the new Fiber-Lite DC950H machine vision fibre optic illuminator.

The DC950H is a 150W quartz halogen regulated illuminator, which features a higher output and greater reliability than previous models. It is now RoHS compliant. It features DC regulated output, fast lamp response, and a 0-5 VDC remote intensity control interface with linear voltage adjustment (8-bit D/A module available). The DC950H can be operated remotely and offers remote notification of lamp failure to decrease downtime.

The DC950H is made of stackable heavy-duty steel housing with a mounting capability. The front panel can be accessed easily for fast lamp changes. Several illuminating options are available with the DC950H, including: colour filtering, manual iris (for intensity adjustment at a constant colour temperature), and an analogue or digital remote interface. The nosepiece is compatible with all standard Dolan-Jenner fibre optic configurations.

Schott

Schott has introduced a new addition to its ColdVision family of products, the MaVi-S, a machine vision strobe light source for use in industrial image processing. Combined with fibre optics and user supplied cameras, the MaVi-S is designed to be used in machine vision applications where very brief, intense light pulses are needed to create bright, high contrast images.

The MaVi-S features a xenon bulb and is easily operated with touch pad control. The unit can be used in conjunction with Schott ColdVision fibre optics. With its lock-down input, it also accepts a variety of fibre ferrules sizes.

For optimal control, the MaVi-S is designed with a touch pad with a variable trigger, intensity, frequency and burst controls. The unit can also be remotely controlled through an RS-232 interface.

In addition, the Schott LLS, a small footprint LED based light source for fibre optic based illumination, is available. It offers a long lifetime of 50,000 hours, and therefore requires less scheduled maintenance than non-LED fibre optic light sources. The LLS is available in a variety of wavelength bands including red, white, amber, green, blue and UV.

The LLS features an external triggered strobe mode with a maximum 1KHz pulse rate, maximum pulse width of 1m/sec, and a duty of 1/10. The unit also possesses a non-volatile memory for storing operating parameters, which allows it to automatically restore operating conditions on power up.

MHAB-100 IR light source

Moritex has launched a standard incandescent IR light source offering a broad light spectrum.

Compact in design, the MHAB-100 IR light source provide a stable output (+/- one per cent) over a long life span (>1,000 hours). The new 100W halogen light source employ proprietary technology to deliver high illuminance (up to 30,000 lx) across the spectral region 1000-1800nm. This high performance enables the IR light to penetrate into or through materials including Si, GaAs, LiNbO3 and LiaO3, facilitating applications such as wafer alignment, MEMS inspection, solar panel inspection and semiconductor device coaxial transmission observation.

A MHAB Series IR light source may be manually controlled or remotely operated by analogue or digital signals. Designed for safety and reliability MHAB IR Series light sources are highly resistant to heat shock. All the new light sources offer the operational flexibility of universal input voltage (100-240V, 50/60Hz).
