High End Powerful Framegrabbers

X64 Xcelera

Dalsa

Dalsa has announced its new line of frame grabbers – the X64 Xcelera Series. Building on the Dalsa’s X64 frame grabbers, the new Xcelera Series uses the PCI Express platform. The platform is unified, scalable and supports Camera Link cameras, with future versions extending to multiple input, progressive scan analogue and parallel LVDS digital cameras.

Designed with the requirements of machine vision OEMs in mind, the Xcelera Series will range from entry-level frame grabbers, to high-performance image acquisition boards and embedded vision processors. The series provides bandwidth of 1GB/sec over multiple-lane PCI Express implementations for the latest high-bandwidth applications. Two products from the series have been released so far – the X64 Xcelera-CL PX4 Dual and X64 Xcelera-CL Full. The Dual version uses Dalsa’s Trigger-to-Image Reliability framework to provide reliable and efficient acquisition. It can acquire images from up to two Base Camera Link cameras, and uses FPGA-based processing. Both feature half-length PCI Express x4 boards and are Windows XP Professional X64 compatible. The Full version can capture images from one camera at rates of up to 1Gb/s. It supports Base, Medium or Full Camera Link operations up to 85MHz. An extended feature set supports non-Camera Link pixel/tap configurations.
