Bumblebee2
Point Grey Research
Point Grey Research has unveiled the Bumblebee2 stereovision camera system. The new Bumblebee2 implements next-generation technology enabling faster acquisition times and improved 3D data quality.
The redesigned Bumblebee stereo camera includes a second-generation calibration retention system for improved resilience. Onboard colour processing and GPIO connectors for external trigger and strobe functionality have also been added. Customers will benefit from these enhancements at the same price as the original Bumblebee camera.
As a binocular camera, the Bumblebee2 contains two 1/3-inch progressive scan CCD sensors, and transmits both the left and right images to a PC via an IEEE-1394 interface. It includes the Digiclops and Triclops SDKs enabling users to control camera settings, adjust image quality and access real-time depth range images using stereovision technology. Extensive example programs and source code are also included for ease of integration.
The Bumblebee2 camera is available in colour or monochrome as a 640 x 480 at 48fps or a 1024 x 768 at 18fps option, and offers a choice of 3.8 or 6.0mm focal length lens.
